Therapeutic Actions

Slows normal and abnormal bone resorption without inhibiting bone formation and mineralization.


Indications



  • Treatment of hypercalcemia associated with malignancy


  • Treatment of moderate to severe Paget disease


  • Treatment of osteolytic lesions in breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and hormonal therapy


  • Treatment of osteolytic bone lesions of multiple myeloma


  • Unlabeled uses: Postmenopausal osteoporosis, hyperparathyroidism, prostatic carcinoma, immobilization-related hypercalcemia to prevent fractures and bone pain, osteoporosis with spinal cord injury
