CHAPTER 97 A thoracoscopy visualizes inside the chest cavity via a laparoscope. A brief description of the procedure follows: 1. Thoracoports, including obturators and cannulas, are used for scope insertion. 2. A fan retractor is used for visualization. 3. Roticulating Babcock forceps are used to handle tissue gently. 4. A Duval lung clamp is used to stabilize tissue that is being removed. 5. Roticulating Metzenbaum dissecting scissors are used to excise the tissue.
