Summary
Risk assessment is an important part of health care that includes early identification or prevention of disease occurrence. In this book, we present risk assessment as a continuous process in assessing for genetic/genomic risks that can have a predisposition for disease. Here we use the acronym RISK to provide essential elements of the process: review the history, identify elements of risk (red flags) that may indicate disease risk warranting further assessment like genetic testing; select the probability of risk through identified red flags, and keep
