SLEEP HYGIENE
Many cancer patients have difficulty with sleep, either being unable to sleep (insomnia) or sleeping too much (hypersomnia). If you are having trouble with sleep, please let your physician or nurses know. We want to help.
WHAT CAUSES SLEEP PROBLEMS?
• Active chemotherapy treatment
• Symptoms such as pain, nausea, diarrhea, itching, etc.
• Personal or family history of insomnia
• Withdrawal from certain medications
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing or lying down
• Having to urinate frequently
• Sleeping during the day (even as much as 15 minutes)
