CHAPTER 92

Skin Graft

A skin graft is performed when the full thickness of skin has been lost.

Possible instruments needed for the procedure include a minor plastic set.

A brief description of the procedure follows:

1. An electric dermatome is used to harvest skin.

2. Disposable dermatome blades are used in various widths, depending on the size of the graft needed.

3. A Dermamesher graft expander is used to enlarge the piece of skin so it will cover a larger area.
