CHAPTER 30 Microtuboplasty is the surgical repair of an occluded fallopian tube with the assistance of the operating microscope. Equipment needed for the procedure includes a basic laparotomy set and self-retaining retractor. 1. A Frazier suction tip is used with a stylet. 2. A Gomel irrigator is used to lubricate delicate tissue. 3. Halstead mosquito forceps are used for stabilizing the tube. 4. Cottle hooks are used to hold the tube. 5. A Swolin Teflon angled rod, 1 mm, is used for probing the tube. 6. A Swolin Teflon angled rod, 3.5 mm, is used for dilating the tube. 7. Westcott scissors are used for dissection. 8. Storz microforceps are used for handling the tube during suturing. 9. A Barraquer needle holder is used for suturing. 10. Kelman-McPherson suture-tying forceps are used for atraumatic knot tying of the suture.
