Therapeutic Actions
Directly amebicidal by an unknown mechanism; is poorly absorbed in the GI tract and is able to exert its amebicidal action directly in the large intestine.
Indications
Acute or chronic intestinal amebiasis
Contraindications and Cautions
Contraindicated with hepatic failure, allergy to iodine preparations or 8-hydroxyquinolines.
Use cautiously with thyroid disease, pregnancy, lactation.

Tablets—210, 650 mg
Dosages
Adults
650 mg tid PO after meals for 20 days.
