Estrogen receptor antagonist


Therapeutic Actions

Binds to estrogen receptors, has anti-estrogen effects; and inhibits growth of estrogen receptor–positive breast cancer cell lines.


Indications



  • Treatment of hormone receptor–positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women with disease progression following antiestrogen therapy



Available Forms

Injection—50 mg/mL


Dosages

Adults

500 mg IM on days 1, 15, 29, and then monthly as two concomitant 5-mL injections, one in each buttock.

Patients with hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh Class B)

250 mg IM on days 1, 15, 29, and then monthly.
