Therapeutic Actions

Blocks DNA synthesis and repair, causing cell death in active and resting lymphocytes and monocytes.


Indications



  • Treatment of active hairy cell leukemia


  • Unlabeled uses: Chronic lymphocytic leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphomas, acute myeloid leukemia, Waldenström macroglobulinemia




Available Forms

IV solution—1 mg/mL


Dosages

Adults

Single course given by continuous IV infusion of 0.09–0.1 mg/kg/day for 7 days.

Pediatric patients

Safety and efficacy not established.
