Craniotomy


Craniotomy is an incision made in the head through the skull that allows the performance of surgery on the brain.

To clip an intracranial aneurysm, Yasargil clip appliers and clips are needed. A Delta shunt tool is used to shunt cerebrospinal fluid from the cerebral ventricles to the peritoneum, and a Salmon passer is used to tunnel subcutaneously from a burr hole to a peritoneal catheter.
