Communicating with the child who has a learning disability
Often, the key to establishing a purposeful, mutually satisfying relationship in the care arena involves ‘clueing’ into the child. This is no different for the child with a profound or multiple disabilities. What does impact on the parameters and rules of that relationship is often our perception of the child and the labels they wear.
