A Lieberman speculum is placed to retract the eyelids. 2. A Beaver knife handle with blade is used for sharp dissection of the conjunctiva. 3. Needle cannulas are used for irrigation. 4. Bishop-Harman forceps are used to stabilize the eye. 5. Westcott tenotomy scissors are used to incise into the lens capsule. 6. A Drysdale nucleus manipulator is used to loosen the lens nucleus. 7. A Barraquer spatula is used to divide the nucleus into quadrants. 8. The phacoemulsifier is used to remove the nucleus. 9. The Thornton IOL forceps are used to insert the intraocular lens (IOL) into the eye. 10. The Sinskey hook is used to position the IOL accurately. 11. The Castroviejo needle holder is used to close the incision, if needed. 12. The McPherson forceps are used to tie the suture.
