Therapeutic Actions

Competitively antagonistic at muscarinic receptor sites; causes smooth muscle relaxation, leading to bronchodilation.


Indications



  • Long-term once-daily maintenance treatment of bronchospasm associated with COPD, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema



Available Forms

Powder for inhalation—18 mcg supplied with Handihaler inhalation device


Dosages

Adults

Two inhalations of the contents of one capsule per day using the Handihaler inhalation device.

Pediatric patients

Safety and efficacy not established.
