Therapeutic Actions
Counteracts smooth muscle spasm of the urinary tract by relaxing the detrusor and other smooth muscles through action at the muscarinic parasympathetic receptors.
Indications
Treatment of overactive bladder with symptoms of urge urinary incontinence, urgency, and urinary frequency
Contraindications and Cautions
Contraindicated with allergy to drug or any component of the drug, severe hepatic impairment, urine retention, gastric retention, uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma, lactation.
Use cautiously with presence of bladder outflow obstruction, GI obstructive disorders, decreased GI motility, controlled narrow-angle glaucoma, reduced renal or hepatic function, congenital or acquired QT prolongation, pregnancy.

TabletsDNC—5, 10 mg
Dosages
Adults
5 mg/day PO, swallowed whole with water. May be increased to 10 mg/day if desired effect is not seen.
Pediatric patients
Safety and efficacy not established.
Patients with severe renal or moderate hepatic impairment
Do not exceed 5 mg/day PO.
Patients with severe hepatic impairment
Not recommended.
