Therapeutic Actions
Competitively blocks muscarinic receptor sites: Bladder contraction is mediated by muscarinic receptors; blocking these receptors decreases bladder contraction and signs and symptoms of bladder overactivity.
Indications
Treatment of overactive bladder with symptoms of urinary incontinence, urgency, and frequency in adults
Contraindications and Cautions
Contraindicated with known hypersensitivity to any component of the drug; urinary retention; gastric retention; uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma.
Use cautiously with bladder outlet obstruction, decreased GI motility, controlled narrow-angle glaucoma, reduced hepatic function, myasthenia gravis, impaired renal function, pregnancy, lactation.

ER tabletsDNC—4, 8 mg
Dosages
Adults
4 mg/day PO; may be increased to a maximum of 8 mg/day if needed and tolerated.
Pediatric patients
Safety and efficacy not established.
Patients with renal impairment
No dosage adjustment needed in mild to moderate renal impairment. Limit dose to 4 mg/day PO in severe renal impairment.
Patients with hepatic impairment
Not recommended for patients with severe hepatic impairment.
