Therapeutic Actions

Counteracts smooth muscle spasm of the urinary tract by relaxing the detrusor and other smooth muscles through action at the muscarinic parasympathetic receptors.


Indications



  • Treatment of overactive bladder with symptoms of urge urinary incontinence, urgency and urinary frequency



Available Forms

ER tabletsDNC—7.5, 15 mg


Dosages

Adults

7.5 mg/day PO taken with liquid and swallowed whole. May be increased to 15 mg/day PO as early as week 2, if needed for patient response.

Pediatric patients

Safety and efficacy not established.

Patients with moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh class B)

Do not exceed 7.5 mg/day PO.

Patients with severe hepatic impairment

Not recommended.
