Therapeutic Actions
An analogue of LHRH; causes a decrease in FSH and LH levels, leading to a suppression of ovarian and testicular hormone production, which causes decreased levels of estrogens (in women) and testosterone (in men); after continuous use, a sustained decrease in FSH and LH levels occurs.
Indications
Palliative treatment of advanced prostate cancer
Unlabeled uses: Central precocious puberty, ovarian cancer, pancreatic carcinoma, endometriosis, hyperandrogenism, in vitro fertilization, uterine leiomyomata
Contraindications and Cautions
Contraindicated with pregnancy, lactation, hypersensitivity to LHRH or any component.
Use cautiously with urinary tract obstructions, metastatic vertebral lesions.

Injectable suspension—3.75 mg, 11.25 mg, 22.5 mg
Dosages
Adults
Palliative treatment: 3.75 mg depot injection IM once monthly into buttock, or 11.25 mg injection IM every 12 wk into buttock, or 22.5 mg IM every 24 wk into buttock.
