Therapeutic Actions
Inhibits cell wall synthesis in susceptible strains of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and in Mycobacterium tuberculosis, causing cell death.
Indications
Treatment of active pulmonary and extrapulmonary (including renal) TB that is not responsive to first-line antituberculotics in conjunction with other antituberculotics
UTIs caused by susceptible bacteria
Contraindications and Cautions
Contraindicated with allergy to cycloserine, epilepsy, depression, severe anxiety or psychosis, severe renal insufficiency, excessive concurrent use of alcohol, lactation.
Use cautiously with pregnancy.

Dosages
Adults
Initial dose, 250 mg bid PO at 12-hr intervals for first 2 wk; monitor serum levels (above 30 mcg/mL is generally toxic). Maintenance dose, 500 mg–1 g/day PO in divided doses monitored by blood levels. Do not exceed 1 g/day.
