Therapeutic Actions
Antimycobacterial: Inhibits mycobacterial ATP synthase, an enzyme needed for the generation of energy by the mycobacterium, leading to mycobacterial death.
Indications
Part of combination therapy in pulmonary multidrug-resistant TB when other treatment regimens cannot be provided; not for use in latent, extrapulmonary, or drug-sensitive TB
Contraindications and Cautions
Contraindicated with history of serious hypersensitivity reactions to bedaquiline, lactation.
Use cautiously with severe hepatic impairment, severe renal impairment or dialysis, pregnancy, prolonged QT interval.

Adults
400 mg/day PO for 2 wk, then 200 mg PO three times/wk for 22 wk with food.
